#I have a Derek Hale problem #See I think if he had trusted them more they would have stuck by him #but I also think he trusted them as much as he could as fast as he could. #He’s been getting better. He doesn’t tell them anything and he doesn’t treat them quite like equals but they’re kids #they’re just kids and he’s trying to keep them safe. And he doesn’t think there’s a pack out there #and not so long ago he would have used violence and intimidation to keep them in line #but they tell him they want to leave and he lets them. #And it’s too little too late but he gives them the advice he probably wishes someone had given him when he refused to follow Laura back here #while she was still alive #and he lets them go. Because even if it’s just two wolves out there#even if they’re just passing through #anything’s got to be better than sitting in that house waiting for Gerard to kill them. #In the end he’s more afraid of watching them die than watching them walk away.
